Day four – hunting for icebergs & meeting supporters

The Odyssey crew spent this rare day off searching for icebergs on the shores of Twillingate and many other small communities along what is called Iceberg Alley. Although it is too early in the season to find many whales, dolphins and puffins in the area, the iceberg hunt was successful and an incredible experience. The term "iceberg" refers to chunks of ice larger than 5 meters (16 feet) across, the ones we saw, although they seemed huge to us were categorized as small.

Each stop was also an opportunity to share information about the Odyssey, answer questions about the Shrine as well as Shriners Hospitals for Children. People continued to walk up to the FezMobile to make a contribution and to purchase the 2 for 5$ bumper stickers.

Altogether there are 11 Shrine Clubs affiliated with the Mazol Shrine Temple in Newfoundland and Labrador. Later in the day, the Exceptional Care Odyssey made its way back to Gander to a meet and greet with the members of the very generous Gander Shrine Club attended by Deputy Mayor of Gander, Cyril Abbott.
