The Exceptional Care Odyssey toured around Saint John, New Brunswick today. It is a beautiful city, surrounded by lakes, rivers and, of course, the iconic reversing falls.
The Fez Mobile was a big hit at two stops at local malls where we supported the Shriners efforts to sell Fezerro tickets to win a new car. Proceeds from the raffle support the Shriners Hospital for Children-Canada and the Luxor transportation fund, which helps children and their families, get to and from their doctors’ appointments.
Luxor Shriner Rene Cormier was our gracious and informative tour guide. He showed us some beautiful sites. Take a look at the day’s pictures.
Did you know that in New Brunswick including the Canada Shriners Hospital’s Bathurst Outreach Clinic, held in partnership with the Chaleur Regional Hospital, over 300 infants, children and teenagers from this province are being actively followed in their own community for initial assessment or follow-up care. This minimizes the stress on the patients and families as well as reduces the cost of transportation. Opened in 2002, the Bathurst Outreach Clinic is held every few months, an orthopaedic surgeon as well as a nurse from Shriners Hospitals for Children—Canada travel to the patients.
